Matsudaira-Area
The Shigaku-sai, a sort of dress rehearsal, is held on the Saturday before April 17 in advance of the full festival. The Shigaku-sai festival starts in the evening and involves scooping of water from the traditional well in which Matsudaira was first bathed, dedications of fireworks, and other bold and mystical sights. The main festival the day after involves a portable shrine being carried from Toshogu Shrine to Kogetsu-in Temple.

Inabu-Area
The Inabu Festival is an event everyone can participate in by taking part in the dance animated by the Taiko Japanese drums and hayashi players. Being the biggest event in the Inabu area of Toyota-City, it also features Tezutsu Hand-Held Cannon Fireworks, as well as gorgeous regular fireworks for the conclusion.

Fujioka-Area
Cherry blossoms and Thunberg's meadowsweets bloom along a 200-meter-long promenade in a Japanese-style garden. Known as Yukiyanagi in Japan, the snow-white blossoms contrast perfectly with the pale pink cherry buds in full bloom. Together, they create a beautiful, dream-like scenery. Asahi-Area
This festival is for enjoying the red maple leaves at Sasado Park while eating natural yam, a specialty of Asahi. You can also take a hands-on lesson to make a bowl of grated yam and rice or you can harvest yams in the field. Inabu-Area
The Oidaira Park is a widely known “koyo” autumn leaves spot of the district of Inabu, eastern Toyota-City. About 520 trees of Acer, Maple and Maiden’s Hair (Gingko biloba, or “icho” in Japanese) all start to get vividly colored a bit earlier than the even more famous Korankei valley, making for a good option for those in a hurry to see the beautiful autumnal hues of Aichi’s nature.

Approximately 450 meters of red spider lilies bloom on both banks of the Aizumame River in the southwestern part of Toyota City, from Tenno Bridge (Marune-cho) to Otoko Bridge (Miyagami-cho). Many people from both inside and outside of Toyota City visit this place to observe and take photographs of these bright red flowers each year, known as higanbana in Japanese.
