At the Obara Fureai Park (known for its four-season sakura trees), you can enjoy its 8,000 four-season sakura (shikizakura) trees, which bloom in both spring and autumn, and have the chance to see cherry blossoms bloom alongside burning red autumn colors. At the Washi Craft Museum, have a go at making your own washi paper, choosing from a selection of four different types: Japanese characters, pictures, dried leaf art and paper fans. After experiencing washi paper-making, relax and unwind at Sasado Onsen before turning in for the night. The next day will be spent at Kōrankei. In the evening, you can also enjoy the area's illuminations.

At the Obara Fureai Park and the adjoining Obara Branch of Toyota City Hall you will find 300 Shikizakura cherry trees which will bloom both in spring, from mid-March through early April, and in autumn from late October through late November. The blossoms happen in greater intensity in the fall than spring, letting you enjoy the vivid maple tree foliage against the charming cherry blossoms. November 1-30 is the best time to see the blossoms each year, and surrounding facilities host Shikizakura Festivals in celebration.

Washi-no-Furusato is a site where you can learn all about the charms of papermaking. The Obara Paper Art Museum offers both the Washi Artwork Gallery, where you can experience the charms of Obara paper crafting, and the Art and Craft Center, where you can try your hand at making paper. The Washi Artwork Gallery exhibits a range of paper works that you must see for yourself.
