Toyota Shuzo Brewery
Koromo Shuzo Brewery began in what is now Kita Town, Toyota City in 1923. With the change of the area's original name—Koromo Town—to Toyota City, so did the brewery's name change. However, something which has remained the same is the area's blessing of abundant underground water with the nearby Yahagi River so close. The brewery dug a well for all the water they would need to build a thriving brand.
With permission from prominent, local Koromo Jinja Shrine, the Toyota Shuzo Brewery took the phrase "Nioi zakura", meaning "Fragrant Cherry Blossom", from a stone haiku monument at the shrine as the brand name of one of its brews. Along with Nioi Zakura, the brewery offers its other brand Toyota Masamune in three varieties: daiginjo, junmai, and honjozo. Taste the local flavors of Toyota City.
