Toyota City Museum
Meet Toyota City's newest resident, opened in April 2024!
A new museum has come to the city of Toyota, and built on the concept of being "A Museum Continually Created by All", it strives to be just that: A museum which continues to grow based on the ideas of Toyota's citizens.
Three concepts
• "A Museum Continually Created by All", opened thanks to everyone
• "A Comprehensive Museum only Toyota City Could Offer" by observing, passing on, and promoting the city's diverse values and allure
• "A Museum Offering Architecture of the 21st Century" as it considers accessibility and sustainability in its construction
See
See local historical materials and geography of Toyota City as well as specimens of some of the animals living here.
Know
Why just look at exhibits when you can take part in courses and lectures or conduct research? Museum visitors can be a professor of sorts as well, conducting surveys and research in the Collaborative Laboratory and releasing their findings. Toyota City Museum offers reference materials and more to help you in your journey into the unknown.
Try
Experience direct interaction with artifacts like earthen pots and tools from antiquity, animal skeletons and furs, and more by touching, tinkering, listening, and smelling for deeper understanding. Plus, many programs for parents and children are available, and you can even observe fish, birds, insects, and other creatures at the outdoor Acorn Wood and Observing Pond locations.
A Museum Created by All
Memory Collection Project
One of the new Toyota City Museum's defining features is its activeness in collecting the everyday memories of those in our society and passing them on to the future. The museum collects memories of Toyota City from yesteryear as well as today and posts them in an exhibit and on the website.

Acorn Wood Project
Elementary school students attending Toyota City elementary school are raising acorns they've collected into trees, creating a local forest in Toyota City Museum's garden. Once the trees are planted, the saplings will turn into a forest you can observe and experience for yourself.
