    Date and time:
    17:30-20:45, July 30, 2022 (Saturday)
    Location:
Meitetsu Toyotashi Station, East side area

The "Oiden Dance" features participants in teams called Odori-Ren performing the impressive "Miseru" dances - choreographed with the sole objective of bedazzling the crowd. This participatory festival has two divisions, the "Basic Dance Division", where each team performs in a tournament-fashion, and the "Arrangement Division", where the teams perform their own original dances.
The festival starts with the "My Town Oiden" events, held in various districts across the city from about a month prior to the the "Oiden Sou-Odori". The Oiden Sou-Odori event is where the champion Odori-Ren teams from each My Town Oiden ultimately battle each other in dancing.
The best Odori-Ren teams from each district then gather for the Oiden Sou-Odori competition, making for an impressive and fierce show of performance.
Besides the charming Odori-Ren dancing performances, pay attention also to their gorgeous garments - another wholly interesting item to check.
If you come across a Tobi-Iri-Ren, feel free to get yourself dancing too, as such teams are put together with the particular objective of gathering the crowd of spectators for dancing!

The Fireworks Festival held as the finale of the Toyota Oiden Festival is one of the biggest in Japan, a display that boasts immense power, and often featured in articles covering fireworks in the country.
There is a wide variety of displays, including the "Melody Fireworks" (*1), with synchronized light and sound, the powerful "Wide Star Mines" (*2), the huge "Niagara Falls", which is 30m high and 550m wide, the traditional "Handheld Fireworks" of Mikawa!
Additionally, this very special fireworks festival sees famous fireworks masters from across the country putting on displays that cannot be seen elsewhere, such as the "Creative Fireworks" and the amazing artistry of a production by the Japan Fireworks Artists Association.

(*1) Melody Fireworks ... powerful fireworks displays choreographed to the sound of spectacular music.
(*2) Combined shooting of multiple "Star Mines", launched in batches anywhere from dozens to hundreds in a brief period of time. The "Wide Star Mine" has several of these arranged in multiple launch sites.
