    The various programs allow visitors to fully experience Toyota City's charm!

    1. Harvest Rice and Make Gohei Mochi with Fine Quality Rice and Miso

    Cultivated organically without using agrochemicals, chemical fertilizer, and herbicides, experience harvesting purple rice with traditional tools and then drying the rice in the sun. After harvesting the rice, try making gohei mochi, pounded rice covered in miso paste and grilled. Includes miso soup and seasonal green vegetables!

    2. Discover Your Inner Samurai! The Asuke Castle Experience

    This program allows you to “traverse,” “see,” and “experience” a reconstructed mountain castle from the middle ages.
    The first step is hiking up a scenic mountain path, where Asuke Castle awaits you at an altitude of 301 meters. Next, knowledgeable staff will guide you through the castle. Experience what it was like to be a samurai by trying on armor and kabuto helmets, or wielding weapons like swords and medieval guns! A lunch of quintessential Japanese food "onigiri" rice balls and "okazu" side dishes will be provided.

    3. Roast Your Own Fair Trade Coffee in the Natural Surroundings of Satoyama

    Experience each step of the coffee-producing process at “KAZENONIWA,” a 100-year-old Japanese traditional house in the mountainous Inabu area of Toyota City. Roast and grind the beans with your own hands before finally brewing a cup. This enjoyable program will bring you closer to the world of coffee.
    If weather permits, this program will be held in the garden, which has a viewing platform with a 180°view! (Held indoors in the case of rain.)

    4. Print a Message on a Giant Dorayaki Pancake!

    Make an extra-large dorayaki the size of your face! At 28 cm in diameter, these dorayaki are about 23 times larger than the regular size. Create your own one-of-a-kind dorayaki with original illustrations and messages. Become a Japanese confectioner for a day!

    5. Taste Toyota Tea at a Famous Tea Farm

    The Ishikawa tea farm, located just south of the Toyota Motor Corporation headquarters, has a history of producing high-quality and award-winning tea. Ishikawa is also the first tea field in Japan to implement organic matcha farming. Participants will be shown around this tea farm flourishing in the middle of the city with fields that have been passed down for generations. Organic matcha green tea and the “kabuse” tea with a surprising umami flavor will be served.

    6. Enjoy a Walking Tour with Ikeno Poultry Farm's Fresh Eggs and a Spa Visit

    The goal of this program is to take a 1.6 km hike in the middle of nature from natural radon hot spring facility “Jurakuso” to a chicken farm. At the Ikeno Poultry Farm, participants can experience collecting freshly laid eggs to take home as a souvenir. After hiking, rest and recover in Jurakuso’s natural radon hot spring.

    Capacity: 10 people
    Target Audience: Participants must be capable of walking 3.2 km round trip.
    *Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
    Meeting Place: Natural Radon Hot Spring Jurakuso
    Participation Fee: Adults: 2,800 yen
    Middle School Students: 2,500 yen
    Elementary School Students: 2,000 yen
    Ages 5 and younger: 1,000 yen

    7. Make a One-Of-A-Kind Art Stamp

    Using "Toyota Obara Washi" (handmade Japanese paper), and taking inspiration from the plants, nature, and seasonal patterns depicted in the ceiling painting of Matsudaira Toshogu Shrine, create a “chigiri” (paper collage) picture in your stamp book. On the facing page, receive a “goshuin” (temple stamp). Make a treasured memory at Matsudaira Toshogu Shrine while admiring the rich colors and texture of the Japanese paper.

    8. Paint a Flower Picture with Colored Obara Washi Paper!

    Learn all the steps in the traditional Toyota City art of papermaking in this hands-on experience. As you paint with five different colors of dye, anticipate how the final product will appear. In a special collaboration, participants will be able to add preserved flowers, dried flowers, or decoration to their completed paper to make their own flower picture. Create your own beautiful and unique work of art!
