    Otaki Gorge is located along Niogawa River, the tributary of Tomoegawa River, in the city of Toyota near Asuke Town. Niogawa River is the resulting flow of six upstream water sources, and is rather calm until it gets to Komiyama District. From this point onward, and until it meets the Tomoegawa 1.8km away, it will descend 148 meters. This rapid and irregular flow creates various big rocks and odd stones, carving the great Otaki Valley with wonderful scenic sights. Come autumn, and the place is venue for the Otaki Gorge Maple Festival, to celebrate the gorgeously tinted fall foliage.

    Directions by public transportation [Directions from Nagoya]
    ・From Nagoya Station on the Higashiyama subway line, go to Fushimi Station and transfer to the Tsurumai subway line (which connects to the Meitetsu Toyota Line from Akaike). Get off at Meitetsu Toyotashi Station.
    ・From Meitetsu Nagoya Station, take the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line to Chiryu Station. Transfer trains and get off at Meitetsu Toyotashi Station.
    ・From JR Nagoya Station, take the JR Chuo Main Line to Kozoji Station. Transfer to the Aichi Loop Line and get off at Shin-Toyota Station.

    -Ride for 19min (fee 390 yen) and get off at Matsudaira-bashi (松平橋).
    -Change buses to the Meitetsu Bus bound for Asuke (岡崎・足助線［足助方面］Okazaki-Asuke Line for Asuke)
    -Ride for 6min (fee 190 yen) and get off at Otaki-cho (王滝町).
    -Walk 8min southeastwards (Myosho-ji Temple, one of the venues).

    *: The Meitetsu Bus bound for Asuke (岡崎・足助線［足助方面］Okazaki-Asuke Line for Asuke) may also be boarded directly at Higashi-Okazaki Station of the Meitetsu Nagoya Line (board from Meitetsu Nagoya Station).
    Directions by car Approx. 10 min eastwards from the Toyota-Matsudaira I.C. of the Tokai Loop Expressway by Routes 301 and 39 - head for the Myosho-ji Temple.
